DevOps Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Kubernetes Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with Kubernetes and a strong background in IaaS, CI/CD tools, and system administration. This role requires a deep understanding of Kubernetes clusters, Helm charts, reverse proxy load balancing, artifact management, and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters and related infrastructure.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Drone CI, AWS CodePipeline, and ArgoCD.
  • Manage and optimize reverse proxy load balancing with NGINX and Traefik.
  • Automate the deployment of certificates using Certbot and Let’s Encrypt.
  • Manage and configure artifact repositories using JFrog Artifactory.
  • Administer and maintain Red Hat and Debian Linux systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Oversee pod management and logger management within Kubernetes environments.
  • Install and configure Keel for automated Kubernetes deployments.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) tools, preferably Terraform, for infrastructure automation.
  • Ensure security, scalability, and reliability of the infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Utilize Grafana, Loki, Promtail, and Thanos for monitoring and observability.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven expertise in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Drone CI, AWS CodePipeline, and ArgoCD.
  • Proficiency in using Red Hat and Debian Linux.
  • Hands-on experience with Helm charts for Kubernetes.
  • Strong knowledge of reverse proxy load balancing using NGINX and Traefik.
  • Experience with certificate management tools like Certbot and Let’s Encrypt.
  • Knowledge of artifact management systems, particularly JFrog Artifactory.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Strong system administration skills, particularly with Red Hat and Debian Linux.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and infrastructure.
  • Experience with storage consoles for managing storage in a cloud or on-premises environment.
  • Expertise in pod management within Kubernetes.
  • Competence in logger management for monitoring and troubleshooting applications.
  • Knowledge of gRPC and Protocol Buffers (Protobuf) for efficient communication between services.
  • Experience with Grafana, Loki, Promtail, and Thanos for monitoring and observability.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Kubernetes Certified Administrator, Red Hat Certified System Administrator) are a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Qualificaions

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Extensive experience with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), preferably Terraform.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Kubernetes Certified Administrator, Red Hat Certified System Administrator)
  • Problem-solving skills, Communication and teamwork skills.
